Sustainable Aquaculture
Fish require the least amount of feed to produce a pound of meat when compared to cows, pigs, and birds. This makes them a more environmentally friendly protein source because less land is required to grow feed for commercially raised fish. The picture below shows a comparison of the amount of feed needed for the different animals.

Most aquaculture currently happening takes place in closed pens in the ocean or large bodies of water as shown at the beginning of the video below. Closed system aquaculture in tanks would be ideal for growing fish inland because it would reduce transportation costs and reduce pollution to water sources.
