Fusion and FissionNuclear fission was used to power the first bombs and all current nuclear power plants. Nuclear fission produces very dangerous highly radioactive waste. The construction of new fission power plants has greatly slowed worldwide since 1980. Nuclear fusion may be a better option. Many research teams around the world are working toward making nuclear fusion a reality. Nuclear fusion would be the ideal power source if we are able to make it work because the fuel source is unlimited and the waste is harmless.

Renewable Energy in North Carolina
Solar farms seem to be popping up all over. A combination with grazing animals seems to work well as the animals control vegetation around the panels without the need for extensive chemical application or mowing. North Carolina receives adequate sunlight to support solar farming across the state.

Wind energy is most likely to be economical on the coast or on mountain tops in North Carolina. Despite good chances of profit, wind energy really hasn't caught on in either location because many believe that wind turbines make the scenery less attractive.
