Meiosis: How Sperm and Egg Are Made
Mitosis was the division of a cell to make an exact copy. Meiosis is cell division to make cells with only half the genes of a regular body cell. Why? To make babies! Sperm and egg cells have to have half the amount of genetic information so that when they combine they make babies with a full set of genes. Meiosis is only used for sexual reproduction.
