What are adaptations?
An adaptation is defined as "a trait with a current functional role in the life of an organism that is maintained and evolved by means of natural selection." Basically it is something that helps an organism survive and reproduce. If a trait doesn't help an organism survive and reproduce, then it is usually removed from the population by natural selection.
